Dr. Radha Rani Palakurthi has performed over 500 hair transplant procedures in men, women and transgenders and is exclusively skilled at performing surgery for various hair types - Asian, Caucasian, Indian and African American. Dr. Radha performs exclusive hair transplant surgery on only one patient per day at her clinic in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India.
Dr. Palakurthi offers her high quality follicular unit hair transplant procedure to her patients at a highly reduced cost of one US dollar per follicular unit via the FUT method and two US dollars per follicular unit via FUE. Her dedication, passion and attention to detail is evident in her results and the smiles she puts back on every individual suffering from hair loss and undergoing hair transplant surgery and treatment at her clinic.
Dr. Radha Palakurthi took up Fellowship in hair restoration surgery under world renowned surgeon and Coalition member Dr. Damkerng Pathomvanich of Thailand, Asia. She is the first Indian to be honored with this Fellowship. Moreover, Dr. Walter Unger (pioneer in modern hair transplant surgery) was so impressed by Dr. Radha's presentation on "hair transplant on Asian women" at the annual scientific 2008 ISHRS meeting in Montreal, Canada that she was invited to author a chapter in his authoritative text book on hair transplantation.
Dr. Radha has a large and experienced staff of 11 surgical assistants averaging 4 years of experience and has the ability to perform large densely packed sessions of ultra refined hair transplants exceeding 3000 grafts when appropriate for the patient. Dr. Radha also performs hair transplant giga sessions exceeding 4000 grafts for those with exceptional donor hair characteristics.
Dr. Palakurthi specializes in dense packing, hair transplant megasessions and has experience in performing successful eyebrow and moustache transplantation procedures. Dr. Radha Palakurthi also has experience managing patients with scars from burns, lacerations, cleft lip scars, post face lift and brow lift scars.
Dr. Radha Palakurthi is very hands-on and is involved in every step of the hair restoration procedure including harvesting the donor strip, preparing the grafts, making tiny recipient incisions in balding areas and inserting 30 to 40% of the grafts herself - especially in the critical hairline areas.
Dr. Radha Palakurthi uses a single blade and 'open technique' to harvest the donor strip in order to minimize follicular transection and employs the advanced trichophytic closure technique. In Dr. Radha's experience, the trichophytic closure method in conjunction with a single layer closure and external absorbable sutures produce virtually undetectable scarring.
Dr. Radha's expertise include artistic design of the hairline using only single haired follicular units to mimic nature and using minimally invasive techniques to reduce surgical trauma. Dr. Radha uses tools as small as .7mm and .9mm to minimize trauma to the scalp and densely packs microscopically prepared grafts up to 50 follicular units per square centimeter (FU/cm2) when appropriate for the patient.
Dr. Radha has a strong background in dermatology and is an alumnus of Andhra Medical College. She was also awarded Advanced Dermatology Fellowship by National Skin Centre, Singapore and is a board certified diplomate of the ABHRS (American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery). She is a member of the ISHRS (International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery), the AAHRS (Asian Association of Hair Restoration Surgeons) and the IAHRS (Indian Association of Hair Restoration Surgeons.
