About

I started noticing my hair loss when I was late 20's, it was more a case of the hairling receding gradually and thinning slowly, nothing sudden but nonetheless noticeable to me.

I am now 38 and having got to the point where my hairline affected me enough to do something about it I began taking finpecia and using rogaine foam  before deciding on a hair transplant.

My Surgical Treatments to Date

I had a hair transplant on 15th May 2012 in Bangkok with Dr Pathomvanich, which totalled almost 3000 grafts and around 7500 hairs in total.

My Non Surgical Treatments

I take finasteride daily and use rogaine foam

Bald Class

Bald class 3A

Norwood class 3A

The Norwood Class A patterns are characterized by a predominantly front to back progression of hair loss. These patterns lack the connecting bridge across the top of the scalp and generally have more limited hair loss in the crown, even when advanced.

9 months plus Hi, Sorry its been 3 months since an update but I have been so busy with work I havent had a chance to do this. Anyway, 9 months and 6 days since my HT and I am delighted with the results so far. It actually looks a lot better in the flesh than in photos but at least you get a feel for how it has come on.

6 months These photos were taken 6 months post-op and I am really happy with how its going. I would imagine I am doing OK but hope for a bit more growth, just to thicken it up a bit. If nothing happened from now I would still be happy though. Still getting spots in my hair which I presume is a sign that growth is continuing. The scar is pretty undetectable now too, all in all its been a great couple of months.

5 months post op Hi, I am now 5 months post-op and growth is coming on really nicely. The temples and frame are filling in and I have got better hair now than I have for years. Still got plenty of spots under the hairline too so growth is still coming. I read lots before my HT and everyone said that you can maintain growth for up to 18 months so I imagine I will be delighted by that stage as I am more than happy now.

Procedure 1

3 months post op Now at 3 months post op.The pinkness has subsided to the point where is is not noticeable to people who dont know I have had a HT and therefore aren't inspecting my hairline. I have been around people who I avoided for the first 2 months post-op and they haven't noticed a thing. The scar has also faded quite nicely so I dont really think about that anymore. My hair is probably around about where I was pre-op now but I do have some small hairs coming through in my temple and around the front of my hairline, nothing to make much of a difference visually but I can see them there. Not too excited about anything yet, just glad to be at the stage where I can stop avoiding people and wearing a cap everywhere I go. I am keen to see some growth though, something to get me thinking it has all been worthwhile. Oh well, roll on, roll on.....

Procedure 1

2 Months post op Couple of days late with the photos but here they are. It appears that I have suffered quite a bit of shock loss and my hair is looking bloody awful at the moment (pardon my French). My native hair is growing but it is still not to the stage it was at pre-op which was still pretty bad, so fingers crossed that as I get towards month 3 there are some signs of growth. I am not too despondent at the moment as I knew that the first 3 months were the worst. I had a haircut 2 weeks ago, my first since HT and the barber cut it far too short - the scar is still very visible and pink so not too happy with that. Still got pinkness on my hairline where the HT was done, could do with that going down ASAP too.... Roll on months 3,4,5,6 and 7!!

Procedure 1

1 month post op Well, its exactly 1 month since I underwent my HT with Dr Pathomvanich in Bangkok and virtually all of my transplanted hairs have now fallen out. My native hair is still short due to having it shaved right down during the HT. All in all I am looking as bad as I ever have - I did expect this though and I have been very lucky that I have been able to work from home and have avoided lots of people since. I had actually got used to having the short cropped hair look with my new hairline and was enjoying it so sad to see it got and be replaced by basically nothing but a pink shadow. Hoping that my native hair grows over the next couple of weeks so that I can disguise the fact I have had something done. 1 month post op

Procedure 1

16 days postop Quick update. Most of the scabs have fallen off now as I have returned to normal washing of the hair ( I did this around day 12 post-op) and the rubbing on my head brought most of the scabs off. My head is still sore and numb at the same time, not too much and I am not taking painkillers or anything for it. Sleeping OK. I am really happy with how it is looking, I had my hair shaved for the op and then went back to the Doc's 2 days later and one of the nurses trimmed the rest of it down so it matched a bit better. As it is over 2 weeks further on, it has grown together and looks good. I am dreading the new hairs falling out now!!!
