Dr Jean luc Portelli- 4800 grafts surgery, 1 year post op results

Procedure detail

I am presenting a case of a 37 year old patient with extensive hairloss in the hairline, midscalp and crown.

I first assessed the patient 7 months prior to surgery, at which time I started the patient on topical finasteride and minoxidil, to stabilise hairloss and promote regrowth.

I did not do temple work in this case as there was minimal temporal recession .

We chose a slightly more conservative hairline to be able to ensure a nice long term result.

We were able to achieve a very nice result using 4800 grafts and were able to preserve donor area for future use.

Punch used- 0.75mm, Implantation- DHI

Bald class

Bald class 5

Norwood stage 5

Occurs when the connecting bridge of hair disappears leaving a single large bald area on the front and top of the scalp. The hair on the sides of the scalp remains relatively high.
