Is it ok if transplanted hair starts falling 2 weeks after a hair replacement procedure or is that too early? Also, how many days after a hair transplant can I wear motorcycle helmet? Mydoctor said it's ok after 2 weeks, but just wanted to double check.

What happens is this: transplanted hair will separate from the follicle 2 to 4 weeks after the hair transplant procedure leaving a healthy follicle behind to rest. In 3 to 5 months, the follicles will begin to wake up and start producing new and healthy hair. Hair will begin to grow thin and colorless but will thicken, darken, and mature over the period of a year plus. A hair transplant is typically seen as mature after about a year however, some softening and refinement of the new hair can take place up to a year and a half.
Two weeks after surgical hair restoration, you'll have no problems wearing a motorcycle helmet. It's also normal for shedding of the transplanted hair to start around that time. The follicle is deeply embedded into the scalp and fully secured by that time.
