I started losing my hair around the end of high school. Pretty tough for a college student to go through that so early. Always wore a cap - everyone I met commented on how often I wore the same hat. Anyway, figured it was time to do something about it. Can't keep wearing a hat forever ya know? I forgot what it even feels like to have a full head of hair. Last time I had that luxury, I was learning to drive haha. Really takes a toll on your confidence to worry about that during the best 4/5 years of your life. Time to change that. Time to make MPB my biatch.

The Norwood Class A patterns are characterized by a predominantly front to back progression of hair loss. These patterns lack the connecting bridge across the top of the scalp and generally have more limited hair loss in the crown, even when advanced.
Same as everyone - confidence. Even harder for me being 23. Always paranoid whenever I go to the pool with friends, at the gym, any time I'm at work or in public without a hat, etc. Really starts to get old dealing with that every day, especially at such a young age.
Eh. Minoxydil has shown a slight improvement. Haven't been on Propecia long enough to notice a difference. Nioxin seems to give a thicker appearance but I doubt it has had any effect other than cosmetic.
So far, very happy. I like the design very much. At first, thought my hairline design might be too conservative, but it's grown on me (see what I did there?) the more I look at it. Pain only lasted a couple of days or so. VERY anxious to see the results come in, but I realize it could be 6 months to a year before I notice anything substantial.
Honestly, HT seems to be the only way to go to REALLY combat any major loss. Obviously medication will help, but in my opinion, it can only do so much.

Research!! I researched for months before I pulled the trigger. Some may take years to make a decision, but I am a pretty aggressive and spontaneous person in general. If it backfires, then oh well, guess I'm SOL. I think I'll be very happy with it though.
A transplant is a very expensive and permanent solution you will live with (in most cases and if all goes well, hopefully) for the rest of your life. If you're going to do it, make sure you do it right. No half-assing here. Personally, I can't pull off the shaved/buzz cut AT ALL. If you can, then more power to you. You'll save a lot of money in the long run. Some of us aren't as fortunate though.
