A 52 year-old Asian male with a receding hairline to the midscalp and diffuse thinning hair at the top to the crown wants his hairline restored. The hair is coarse, black and gray, and straight. The scalp donor is limited; however, the patient has good neck beard. A combination of FUT and FUE from the scalp and from the beard was done, yielding 3,953 grafts. 2,272 grafts were harvested by FUT, 772 grafts by FUE from the scalp, and 909 grafts by FUE from the beard (1-hair = 719 grafts, 1 big and 1 small-hair = 669 grafts, 2-hair = 960 grafts, 3-hair = 449 grafts). Below are pre-operative and six months post-operation photos. The patient is very happy with the results.
