This Norwood 3A patient in his late forties presented to Dr. Ron Shapiro with medium caliber hair and his desire to fill his frontal third and create a conservative hairline. Hair transplant surgery was performed using the FUE method to place 1713 grafts utilizing 3649 hairs. The result photos shown are before, six months postoperative, and twelve months postoperative.

The Norwood Class A patterns are characterized by a predominantly front to back progression of hair loss. These patterns lack the connecting bridge across the top of the scalp and generally have more limited hair loss in the crown, even when advanced.
