Procedure detail
Patient is a 39-year-old Asian male with receding hairline and diffuse thinning hair from the front to the crown. He wants to restore his hairline and add on the density. The recipient area measured 79 cm2; hair is coarse, black with average density (65 follicles/cm2) and good scalp laxity.
He needs the maximum number of grafts with minimizing the thinning effect from overharvesting FUE and the long linear scar from FUT surgery. So, the combination of FUT and FUE techniques were done. FUT 2,699 grafts was done (1-hair grafts: 803 grafts, 1 1/2 hair grafts: 259 grafts, 2-hair: 1,481 grafts, 3-hair grafts: 156).
- FUE 854 grafts from the scalp were harvested with MAMBA device, punch size 1.0 mm.
Attached are pre-operative photos and post-op photos at 11 months. The patient is happy with the results.
