Procedure detail
This case features a 45-year-old male patient with Norwood 5-6 hair loss involving the frontal area, mid-scalp, and crown. He had no previous hair transplant and had not undergone prior medical treatment before surgery.
The treatment plan was performed with FUE in two sessions, approximately one year apart, with a total of 5,500 grafts. The first session focused on rebuilding the frontal hairline and mid-scalp using approximately 3,500 grafts. The second session addressed the crown area with approximately 2,000 grafts.
The hairline was designed to be age-appropriate, with natural irregularity and adjustment according to the patient’s personal preference. The patient had fine European hair with good donor density, allowing a donor-conscious plan to provide broader coverage across the frontal, mid-scalp, and crown regions.
This case was performed approximately 10 years ago, during a period when FUE was still becoming more widely recognized. The result shown is 10 months after the second session.
The patient started finasteride one month after the hair transplant, but used it intermittently based on his personal preference.
The after photos were taken under comparable angles and lighting, with no hair fibers, concealers, or cosmetic enhancement used. Individual results may vary depending on donor density, hair characteristics, surgical planning, and long-term maintenance.
