Procedure detail
FUT performed on a 48 year old Caucasian male with:
- NW V-VI Class T-R
- Donor density of ~90-100 FU/cm2 in the occipital donor region and ~80-90 FU/cm2 in the temporal donor regions
- Hair diameter of ~60-70 microns
Treatment plan:
A Follicular Unit Strip procedure with 3500-4000 follicular units to reconstruct the entire hair line, the central core and add density to the mid head area, without shaving the recipient area.
Performed procedure (November 11, 2012):
A Follicular Unit Strip Transplantation with 3760 FU:
* 878 single hair FU
* 2163 double hair FU
* 719 triple hair FU
Donor closing in double layer suture technique;
Parallel incisions (single, double and triple hair units) were made in custom-sized blades technique (~Cutting Edge blades of 0.75 mm – 0.90mm).

Occurs when the connecting bridge of hair disappears leaving a single large bald area on the front and top of the scalp. The hair on the sides of the scalp remains relatively high.
