Procedure detail
Follicular Unit Extraction performed on a 43 year old Caucasian male with:
- NW IIa
- Donor density of ~92-104 FU/cm2 in the occipital donor region and ~80-88 FU/cm2 in the temporal donor regions
- Hair diameter of ~54-62 microns
Treatment plan:
FUE procedure with 1500-1700 FU to reconstruct the temples and hairline
Performed procedure (February, 5th & 6th 2013):
A Follicular Unit Extraction with 1500 FU in a single day session:
* 519 single hair FU
* 891 double and triple hair FU
Extraction performed with a 0.85mm FUE punch with CIT Manual Punch Handle. No microscopic preparation of the follicular unit grafts;
Parallel incisions (single, double and triple units) were made in custom-sized blades technique (~Cutting Edge blades of 0.70mm – 0.85mm).
Bald class
Norwood class 2A.
The class A variation of the Norwood scale is a slightly different and less common progression of hair loss. The main differences are that the hairline recedes back uniformly, without leaving an island of hair in the middle, and there is no bald area at the vertex. Instead, the hairline progresses directly from front to back.
