Procedure detail
FUT performed on a 21 year old African-American female with:
- Donor density of ca. 54-64 FU/cm?
- Hair diameter of ca. 72-80 microns
Treatment plan:
- 1st Follicular Unit Strip Transplantation with 2600-2800 FU to lower and reconstruct the entire hairline
- 2nd Follicular Unit Strip Transplantation with 1500 FU to lower the hairline and add density to the hairline and central core
Performed procedures
1st treatment - August, 9th 2012:
A Follicular Unit Strip Transplantation with 2741 FU
* 785 single hair FU
* 1956 double and triple hair FU
Donor closing in 1mm lower edge Trichophytic Closure technique.
Parallel incisions (single, double and triple hair units) were made in custom-sized blades technique (~Cutting Edge blades of 0.75mm–1mm);
Density of 35-45 FU/cm2 in the hairline and feather zone (single units), a density of 30-40 FU/cm2 in density zone (double and triple units).
2nd Treatment – October 27th, 2014:
A Follicular Unit Strip Transplantation with 1909 FU
* 748 single hair FU
* 1161 double hair FU
* No triple hair FU
Donor closing in 1mm lower edge Trichophytic Closure technique.
Parallel incisions (single and double hair units) were made in custom-sized blades technique (~Cutting Edge blades of 0.75mm–1mm);
Thickening of the hairline and central core with an average density of 20 FU/cm2.
