Question:
I had my hair transplant 2 days back and I had taken drinks two 2 days before my surgery. I am also chewing tobacco after my surgery. Would it have any adverse effect on my hair growth? It is difficult for me to stop using them.
Answer:
I haven’t heard any reports of alcohol and chewing tobacco hindering transplanted hair growth from hair restoration surgery. However, during the healing period in particular, it’s probably a good idea to keep the use of the substances minimal, especially if you’re taking medication prescribed by your physician. Alcohol and pain medication typically don’t mix. Additionally, be sure to speak to your hair restoration physician about the impact these substances may have on wound healing.
